How Is Your Solar Output Calculated in Central India?

Central India (Bhopal, Indore, Nagpur, Jaipur) receives an exceptional 300+ days of clear sunshine each year, with an average solar irradiance of 4.5 to 5.2 peak sun hours per day.

A standard 3 kW system equipped with Tier-1 550Wp+ TOPCon bifacial modules generates approximately 12 to 15 kWh (units) daily, adding up to 360–450 units per month.

1 kW System: Generates ~4–5 units/day · Ideal for bills up to ₹1,500/mo · Subsidy: ₹30,000
2 kW System: Generates ~8–10 units/day · Ideal for bills up to ₹3,000/mo · Subsidy: ₹60,000
3 kW+ System: Generates ~12–15 units/day · Ideal for bills up to ₹6,000/mo · Subsidy: ₹78,000

Frequently Asked Questions: Solar Sizing & ROI

The calculator takes your average monthly electricity bill (or monthly unit consumption) and divides it by the standard solar generation benchmark of 120 units per kW in Central India. It then calculates your total generation, factors in the slab tariff rate (typically ₹6.50 to ₹8.50/unit for domestic and ₹8 to ₹14/unit for commercial), and deducts fixed connection fees to provide your exact monthly and 25-year financial savings.
The calculator applies the official MNRE Central Financial Assistance (CFA) schedule: ₹30,000 for 1 kW, ₹60,000 for 2 kW, and a flat ₹78,000 for 3 kW and larger residential systems. The subsidy amount is subtracted from the gross turnkey project cost to display your net out-of-pocket capital investment.
The required system capacity is calculated as: Required Capacity (kW) = Monthly Electricity Consumption (kWh) ÷ (Average Peak Sun Hours × 30 Days × System Efficiency Derating Factor). For Central India (Bhopal, Indore, Nagpur, Jaipur), this simplifies to dividing monthly units by 120 (e.g. 600 units ÷ 120 = 5 kW system).
Our payback estimations are accurate within ±5%, accounting for real-world meteorological data from MNRE/NISE solar radiation maps, local DISCOM net-metering tariffs, 0.5% annual module degradation, and equipment efficiency losses.
